CAIRO- Egyptian Planning and Economic Development Minister Hala el-Saeed said on Monday her ministry works on implementing Egypt Vision 2030 in conformity with the Sustainable Development Strategy which aims to achieve comprehensive and inclusive progress.
Said was speaking before the Senate during discussing a draft law on the socio-economic development plan for the fiscal year of 2022-23.
Urgent issues like overpopulation, climate change, water scarcity, and financial inclusion were included in the plan, Said noted.
The plan aims to build the Egyptian people, improve the quality of life for the citizens, achieve comprehensive rural development, implement the Universal Health Insurance System, upgrade the education system, and strengthen the international competitiveness of the Egyptian economy, according to the minister.
She also underlined that the plan targets increasing dependency on local resources, increasing local components in the industry, localising high-tech and value-added industries, and focusing on green economy projects.
