AROUND 1.3 people have already received Covid-19 vaccine jabs since the beginning of the public vaccine rollout in early March, a senior Ministry of Health and Population official revealed Sunday.

Over 2.4 million people have registered on the ministry’s website to get the vaccines, Assistant Minister
of Health and Population Mohamed Hassani said.
He noted that over 2.5 million doses of the different Covid-19 vaccines have arrived in Egypt and that
his ministry offers the vaccines to Egyptians and nonEgyptians alike who register on the ministry’s website.

The public rollout of the vaccines, he said, depends on the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine and the BritishSwedish Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine until now.
Both vaccines had taken emergency approval from the national Drug Agency, he said.

Hassani called on the members of the public to register on the website of his ministry to get their vaccine
jabs.
Vaccination, he said, reduces the risk of going through the severe symptoms of Covid-19, in case
of infection.
