Sisi lays stress on completing electricity supply projects to urban communities in Sinai

The president discussed the upgrade of electricity supply to urban communities in Sinai and connecting these communities with the national electricity grid, Presidency SpokesmanAmbassador Bassam Radi, said.
The president instructed the officials meeting him to complete electricity supply projects for Sinai according to schedule.

He underscored the importance of these projects for satisfying development needs in these areas, especially when it comes to the agricultural sector where electricity is important for the
operation of water pumping stations.

The president said the completion of local electricity projects also pushes plans for electrical interconnectivity with neighbouring countries forward, Ambassador Radi said.
Discussions between the president and the officials attending the meeting also focused on co-operation with foreign companies in the production of green hydrogen.

This co-operation, the president said, moves hand in hand with state plans to expand the use of clean energies and increase the contribution of these energies in electricity generation.
President Sisi called for diversifying electrical energy production sources and benefiting from Egypt’s natural resources in this regard, especially renewable energy.

The president especially dwelt on the production an export of green hydrogen in partnership with foreign companies specialised in this field, Ambassador Radi said.
The president also highlighted the importance of training Egyptians and enlisting scientific expertise from local universities in this regard.

President Sisi also reviewed progress on the completion of electricity infrastructure in the New Administrative Capital, Ambassador Radi said.
He added that Minister Shaker briefed the president on the efforts his ministry makes in improving the electricity network nationwide and its services in the different governorates.

Efforts made in this regard, he said, contributed to improving the efficiency of the national electricity network and meeting growing demand for electrical power, especially during the summer season.
