CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled el-Anani and President of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces (EAAF) Ihab el Far on Monday held an expanded coordination meeting to follow up on the latest developments of the construction works in the project of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) before its inauguration.
The Authority has participated in the GEM’s project since 2016.
A statement by the Tourism and Antiquities Ministry said the meeting came in implementation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives about making all required preparations for opening GEM.
The meeting discussed recent updates about the implementation status of the Museum’s project in line with the latest techniques and trends to reflect the magnitude of the ancient Egyptian civilization as per president Sisi’s directives in this regard.
All construction and engineering works in the GEM are set to be finalised on June 30, 2022.
