Nominations for 1st phase of trade union elections to be opened Sunday: Manpower ministry

CAIRO – Nominations for the first phase of trade union elections will be opened on Sunday and Monday, said the Egyptian Manpower Ministry in a statement Friday.

Candidacy for the first stage will include 15 trade unionist committees, added the statement.

Egypt’s Manpower Minister Mohamed Safaan is following up preparations of polling stations in 27 governorates in order to receive the nomination requests for the first phase, according to the statement.

A central operations room is set up at the ministry’s headquarters and relevant directorates to remove any obstacles that might affect the preparation process, said the minister.
