CAIRO – The American Metropolitan Opera, the Met, administration decided to honour Culture Minister Inas Abdel Dayem in appreciation of her role in enriching the cultural scene in Egypt.
The administration also decided to stage Turandot’s opera at the small theatre of Cairo Opera House on Saturday at 6:00 pm.
Earlier, Abdel Dayem announced the streaming of US Metropolitan Opera shows at the Cairo Opera House saying that this step aims to create a state of artistic and cultural popularity for the shows in Egypt and comes within the strategy of building bridges of creative communication with various countries of the world, opening distinct horizons for opera art.
Egypt was the first country in the whole region to resume direct broadcasting in 2022. The decision to previously halt the performance was due to the coronavirus pandemic.
