CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tareq el Mulla discussed with President of Honeywell International Inc. for Egypt and North Africa Khaled Hashem and the company’s President and CEO for the Middle East Mohammed Mohaisen the projects in which the company is engaged and means of increasing its activities in the Egyptian oil sector.
This comes in light of Honeywell’s great keenness to expand its participation in implementing strategic projects in Egypt, mainly in the fields of green fuels and advanced technologies that help reduce harmful emissions.
In a statement on Friday, Mulla said the petroleum sector attaches paramount importance to the digitization projects and adopting the state-of-the-art technologies in implementing projects.
The petroleum sector is keen to benefit from the best international practices in the green energy projects, he said, welcoming the company’s willingness to engage in the sector’s projects and initiatives to be launched during the Climate Summit to reduce harmful emissions and store carbon.
Meanwhile, Honeywell’s Hashem said according to MENA that Egypt’s geographical location enables it to be a key hub linking Europe with the Middle East, particularly in the green fuels projects.
He reviewed the status of the projects in which the company is engaged with the petroleum sector, asserting the company’s great keenness to work with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation in the fields of petrochemicals and production of green fuels for aircraft refueling, with investments amounting to dlrs 200 million.
