CAIRO – Egyptian Planning Minister Hala el-Saeed said on Monday the government is keen on developing the youth’s innovative capabilities across the countries within a framework of localising the SDGs.

Saeed was speaking during her meeting with representatives of government universities and students who partake in the Youth for Development Initiative to benefit from the students’ researches.

The government is keen to benefit from the youth’s suggestions in the fields of socio-empowerment of women, environmentally-friendly projects, supporting the health system, innovations to improve governance, combating corruption, and public services, Said noted.

Youth for Development Initiative, launched by the Ministries of Planning and Higher Education and Scientific Research, aims to create atmosphere to encourage the youth to take part in the issues of public affairs and raise their awareness of the SDGs within a framework of the axes tackled by the Egypt Human Development Report 2021. These axes are education, health, adequate housing, economic reform, social protection, environmental sustainability, and governance.
