CAIRO – Bulgarian Ambassador to Egypt Deyan Angelov Katratchev lauded on Thursday the Egyptian efforts exerted in different domains, asserting that the steps taken by Egypt are much appreciated.
This came during Katratchev’s meeting with Egypt’s Mufti Shawqi Allam on Thursday to discuss boosting aspects of co-operation.
During the meeting, Katratchev lauded the efforts of the mufti to face extremist thinking and spread the true teachings of Islam.
Meanwhile, Allam reiterated the interest of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in renewing religious discourse, asserting that Egypt presents a unique example in coexistence and citizenship.
Allam lauded the societal role of Darul Ifta in protecting the Egyptian family and giving marriage advises, citing the establishment of a unit for family guidance.
Allam asserted the importance of promoting the awareness of youth and protecting them from extremism.
He expressed readiness of Darul Ifta to present all kinds of scientific and legitimate support to the Bulgarian imams especially in the field of training muftis and providing Bulgaria with Darul Ifta publications.
Allam reviewed the efforts of Darul Ifta in combating extremism via establishing the Observatory for Monitoring Takfiri Fatwas and Extremist Ideologies which prepares strategic and future studies based on moderate Islamic approaches.
