Egyptian Prime Minister, Moustafa Madbouli, discussed on Sunday efforts by the Ministry of Education to support the educational process in Sinai.

This comes in the wake of the implementation of a large number of development projects in this territory.

The government, the prime minister said, works to improve conditions in Sinai in all fields.

He added that this is done through an integrated plan that includes the educational, health and social aspects of the life of the residents of Sinai.

“Sinai’s development is not only about constructing facilities and implementing projects,” the prime minister said. “It is also about building its human element in all fields.”

Minister of Education, Tarek Shawqi, said his ministry’s efforts to support the educational process in Sinai come within the framework of its efforts ensure the quality of this process.

These efforts, he said, also come in the light of directives by the political leadership for paying attention to service projects in Sinai and solving the problems of its residents.

The minister noted that his ministry’s efforts for the development of the educational process in Sinai include the construction and maintenance of schools.

He said 12 new schools were established in the past period and 12 others were fully maintained.

The minister added that his ministry is also introducing new types of education in Sinai, including through the construction and operation of the Egyptian-Japanese School in Arish.

He added that the ministry is also expanding the official language schools.

He said eight official language schools are operating in North Sinai this academic year.

The ministry’s strategy, he said, also includes implementing a new educational system in schools in various educational stages.

He noted that 1,462 teachers are targeted for training in the coming period.

The minister revealed that his ministry would also establish a major service complex for exams in Arish.

He added that a number of Sinai’s schools succeeded in obtaining quality accreditation certificates.
