Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty stressed the importance of concerted regional and international efforts to promote de-escalation and prevent further crises across the region, amid the fluctuating security situation and alternating signs of military escalation and restraint in recent days.
The remarks came during a telephone conversation Abdelatty had on Wednesday with Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, during which the two ministers exchanged views on the latest regional developments.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ambassador Nader Zaki stated that the call formed part of ongoing consultations between Egypt and Türkiye, both within the framework of bilateral relations and through the R4 ministerial mechanism, which also brings together Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
The two ministers reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close consultation and coordination and continuing their joint efforts to contain tensions and spare the region further instability and crises.
