Unidentified gunmen opened fire inside a church in Jordan’s Karak governorate, causing an unspecified number of deaths and injuries, state television reported on Friday.
Early reports said at least seven people had been killed and a further ten injured.
Authorities were pursuing the suspects, the television said, citing the Public Security Directorate.
The attack took place during a funeral, the state news agency said.
