In line with the Egyptian government’s vision to increase Egyptian annual exports to $100 billion, “Go Global” – an International Business Development Company – in co-operation with USAID’s Trade Reform and Development in Egypt (TRADE) and Sustainable Services Activity (SSA) projects, announced the launch of the 1st edition of “Export Smart” conference and exhibition, which will take place under the auspices of the Ministry of International Co-operation on March 15, 2022 at The Royal Maxim Palace Kempinski Hotel, Cairo governorate. Export Smart aims to be the 1st annual event of its kind in the Middle East that contributes to helping small and medium-sized companies increase their exports sustainably.
Export Smart gathers all stakeholders of the export development field together in one place to support the enhancement of the trade enabling environment in Egypt and facilitate access to markets by connecting SME exporters and exporters-to-be to export service providers, government institutions, and Export Councils under one roof. The event’s objective is to not only increase SME awareness of all stages and challenges of the export process but also to offer solutions by linking SMEs to service providers that can help them succeed along their export journey.
Rania Habib, Managing Director of Go Global, said that “Export Smart aims to co-operate with anyone that can contribute to the enrichment of the export ecosystem in Egypt, helping Egyptian SME exporters in their export journey by providing more opportunities for all.”
Habib added that many Export Councils and government institutions are participating this year in “Export Smart,” such as the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI), Industrial Modernisation Center, the General Organisation for Export and Import Control, along with the event’s sponsors Ebank, the Suez Canal Insurance Co., the Export Credit Guarantee of Egypt, and Dun & Bradstreet.
For his part, Rachid Benjelloun, USAID TRADE Chief of Party, continued that “Through Export Smart, USAID TRADE aims to generate new opportunities for SME exporters and for Egypt-based private sector service providers to help SMEs develop their businesses and access new international markets, in line with the Egyptian government’s vision to increase Egyptian exports to $100 billion in this decade.”
