Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and World Economic Forum (WEF) President and CEO Alois Zwinggi signed an agreement on Thursday to hold a two-day business meeting in Egypt on November 16-17.
The meeting emphasises Egypt’s standing as an international investment destination and its strategic role as a hub connecting African, Arab and global markets, creating new economic opportunities and strengthening partnerships with leading international companies.
It is expected that over 80 senior executives from major global companies, international economic organisations and private-sector leaders from around the world will attend the meeting.
Discussions will focus on promoting investment-led inclusive growth, enhancing the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy and supporting the shift towards a model that relies more on the private sector, exports and productivity, in line with the country’s economic priorities.
Minister Abdelatty said hosting the meeting reflects confidence in the Egyptian economy and its resilience in the face of regional and international challenges, as well as the promising investment opportunities it offers.
He expressed hope that the meeting would provide a platform for leading international and regional private-sector companies to explore investment opportunities in Egypt.
The minister highlighted Egypt’s significant progress in infrastructure, road networks, ports and the energy sector, alongside the modernisation of the banking sector, streamlined investment procedures and incentives designed to attract investment.
These efforts, he said, strengthen Egypt’s ability to attract high-quality investment and deepen its integration into the global economy.
For his part, Zwinggi said Egypt has significant economic potential and plays a key role in the global economy.
He added that the meeting would provide an opportunity to strengthen public-private sector cooperation, establish new partnerships and turn shared priorities into practical steps to enhance competitiveness and support sustainable and inclusive growth in Egypt and worldwide.
