Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Thailand, Ekniti Nitithanprapas, stressed the importance of strengthening economic, trade and investment co-operation between Egypt and Thailand.
They underscored the need to expand avenues for bilateral collaboration and promote the exchange of expertise in economic and financial reform, as well as investment mobilisation, in support of their shared development objectives.
The two ministers also emphasised the importance of deepening co-operation between Egypt and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), building on the co-operation agreement signed between Egypt and ASEAN in 2016.
They highlighted the potential of this framework to broaden economic partnerships, enhance trade and investment opportunities, and advance mutual interests.
The remarks came during a meeting between the two ministers on Wednesday, held on the sidelines of a dinner hosted by the Prime Minister of Thailand, Anutin Charnvirakul, in honour of heads of delegations participating in the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group.
