Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has reviewed the key themes and discussion points for a session on “Sustainable Urban and Spatial Development Efforts and Their Impact on Improving Citizens’ Quality of Life”, as part of the ongoing preparations for the Egypt Forum 2026, scheduled to be held in the New Administrative Capital from October 19 to 24.
During the meeting, the prime minister emphasised that the session would focus on the direct impact of the state’s urban development and infrastructure projects on citizens’ daily lives.
Discussions will address efforts to redevelop unsafe and unplanned informal settlements, establish new cities, expand road and transport networks, develop infrastructure, and implement the presidential Decent Life (Hayah Karima) initiative to improve living conditions in rural villages across Egypt.
In this respect, Prime Minister Madbouly highlighted the importance of examining the concerns and challenges associated with the urban development sector, alongside the state’s priorities for the coming phase.
Particular attention will be given to improving the built environment, enhancing the quality of life for citizens, and outlining the implementation schedules for planned projects and initiatives.
The meeting also reaffirmed the importance of ensuring that the forum’s sectoral review sessions are grounded in accurate data, transparency and frank discussion.
The sessions are intended to address the questions and concerns of citizens and the wider public, providing a clear account of the challenges facing each sector, the measures being undertaken to address them, and the objectives set for the next stage.
Minister of Local Development Manal Awad, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Randa El-Menshawy and senior state and government officials were present at the meeting.
