Egypt’s Minister of Justice Mahmoud Helmy El-Sherif held an expanded meeting on Saturday with heads of primary and economic courts nationwide to mark the start of the new judicial year.
El-Sherif invoked the spirit of the October War victory, stressing that judicial appointments were based on competence and effective management.
He said the state, under President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, prioritises the judicial system, with a focus on upholding citizens’ dignity and improving access to judicial services.
The minister called for greater attention to long-pending cases to reduce backlogs and ensure swift justice. He also stressed the need to accelerate digital transformation and promote mutual respect among those working in the justice system.
El-Sherif further underscored the importance of countering digital rumours through transparent institutional performance and efforts to enhance public satisfaction.
