President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi will open the Alamein Africa Forum in New Alamein on Saturday, bringing together African leaders and senior officials, alongside representatives of African and international business and economic institutions.
Sisi will also co-chair the summit of the founding states of the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) with the President of Angola, who serves as chair of the agency’s Heads of State and Government Orientation Committee, according to Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy.
The summit will bring together leaders and representatives of AUDA-NEPAD’s founding states, namely Egypt, Algeria, Nigeria, Senegal and South Africa, as well as the President of Burundi in his capacity as the current Chairperson of the African Union. Representatives of the African Union Commission and the Chief Executive Officer of AUDA-NEPAD will also attend.
Sisi is also scheduled to participate in the eighth African Union Mid-Year Coordination Meeting, which Egypt will host in New Alamein on Sunday, 4 October, El-Shennawy said.
A number of African leaders and heads of regional economic communities will attend the meeting. The president is scheduled to deliver the opening and closing speeches as head of the host country.
Over the coming two days, Sisi will hold a series of bilateral and multilateral meetings with African leaders and officials to discuss ways to strengthen joint African action and advance development and continental integration efforts, the presidency spokesman concluded.
