The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has won two major regional awards for its strong trading performance at the annual conference of the Arab Federation of Capital Markets.
The conference brought together stock market leaders, exchange chiefs and senior financial and banking officials from across the Arab region and beyond.
EGX was named the top exchange by average daily trading value and the top exchange by average daily trading volume.
The awards recognise the record activity on Egypt’s stock market, supported by deeper liquidity, a broader base of retail and institutional investors, and growing demand for a diverse range of investment products.
Egyptian Exchange Chairman Omar Radwan said the awards reflected the resilience of Egypt’s economy and the ability of its capital market to withstand complex geopolitical and economic shocks while maintaining strong activity.
“Winning these prestigious regional awards is not only recognition of the development achieved by the Egyptian Exchange. It is also a strong incentive to do more to make the market deeper and more competitive,” Radwan said.
He added that the exchange would build on its recent progress by accelerating development programmes, expanding partnerships, facilitating foreign investment and introducing modern financial products and instruments.
“These efforts will further boost Egypt’s position as an attractive financial centre for capital,” he said.
