Dozens of Israeli settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque from Bab al-Maghariba (Moroccan Gate) on Monday under heavy protection from the occupation forces.
Palestinian News Agency WAFA reported that 1,500 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday and performed Talmudic rituals and prayers, particularly near the Al-Qattanin Gate, one of the mosque’s gates.
The incursion coincided with the bringing of so-called “plant offerings” into its courtyards, along with chanting, dancing in circles, prostrating and collectively lying face down, in scenes reflecting a continued escalation in imposing Talmudic rituals inside Al-Aqsa Mosque and attempts to alter its existing historical and legal status quo.
Meantime, the occupation forces tightened military measures around Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City, as well as restrictions on worshippers’ entry and movement.
