Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk said dialogue with start-ups and entrepreneurs serves as a source of inspiration for policymakers and helps drive innovation and development. He also stressed that exchanging views with business partners contributes to designing systems that are more efficient and better suited to Egypt’s realities.

Speaking at the Techne Entrepreneurship and Technology Summit, Kouchouk described the simplified tax system as a purely Egyptian initiative aimed at encouraging small businesses and helping them grow and expand. He added that the government is ready to finance innovative initiatives that enhance the competitiveness and growth of the Egyptian economy.

The minister noted that concessional financing is available to companies through the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), explaining that the Ministry of Finance’s role is to support economic activity and stimulate growth while maintaining fiscal stability. He pointed out that LE 80 billion has been allocated in the current budget to programmes supporting production, exports and entrepreneurship.

Kouchouk also revealed plans to co‑operate with the Ministries of Investment and Industry to establish two specialised funds to support targeted economic sectors and activities, helping direct support more effectively.

On digital transformation, he said the main objective is to improve services for citizens by simplifying procedures and making access to services easier and more efficient. He noted that more than 1.2 million citizens have registered on the Real Estate Tax mobile application, adding that the platform is being continuously upgraded to further improve service quality and user experience.
