The fifth edition of the Egypt Mining Forum 2025 will kick off in the New Capital on Monday, September 28, under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
The two-day forum will feature the announcement of the results of Egypt’s first mineral exploration tender under an open-block system, alongside discussions on investment opportunities.
The forum will be held on September 28-29 under the theme “Unlocking the Exploration Potential of Egypt and the Arabian-Nubian Shield,” the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced in a statement on Sunday.
Major international mining companies, as well as mining ministers and officials from Arab and African countries will take part in the event.
Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Karim Badawi said the forum provides an international platform to showcase Egypt’s mining potential. He noted that recent reforms aim to create an attractive investment climate for exploration and prospecting and encourage downstream industries to increase value added.
Badawi said the measures lay the foundation for a new phase aimed at enhancing the sector’s ability to attract investment. The second day of the forum will feature a roundtable chaired by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly with senior investors to boost partnerships and explore available investments.
The minister added that the forum will announce the results of investment opportunities offered by the Egyptian Mineral Resources and Mining Industries Authority in June for gold, phosphate, talc, and kaolin exploration.
