President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has reaffirmed Egypt’s continued support for Yemen and its people. He stressed the importance of preserving the unity of the Yemeni state and its national institutions and backing efforts to achieve a comprehensive political settlement that meets the aspirations of the Yemeni people.
Sisi made the remarks during a phone call on Friday with Rashad Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy said.
The president reiterated Egypt’s support for all efforts aimed at restoring security and stability in Yemen, stressing Cairo’s commitment to continuing its support for the Yemeni people.
The call also addressed the latest developments in Yemen and ongoing efforts to restore security and stability in the country.
Al-Alimi praised Egypt’s supportive role in promoting Yemen’s stability and preserving its territorial integrity, while commending Cairo’s longstanding and consistent positions in support of the Yemeni people.
The two leaders also stressed the importance of continued co-ordination and consultation between Egypt and Yemen on regional issues, in a way that contributes to strengthening security and stability across the region and serves the interests of both countries and their peoples.
The call underscored the deep-rooted historical and fraternal ties between Egypt and Yemen.
