Pakistani Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has commended the mediation efforts by Egypt, the United States, Qatar and Türkiye aimed at advancing the implementation of the comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza, in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2803.
Addressing a meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation’s Six-Member Committee on Palestine on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people, MENA reported.
Dar expressed deep concern over the situation in Gaza and the West Bank, stressing that reconstruction efforts and administrative arrangements should be Palestinian-led, with the Palestinian Authority playing a central role.
He also called for accountability for those responsible for violations of international law.
The Pakistani foreign minister strongly condemned continued Israeli violations at Al-Aqsa Mosque and voiced concern over illegal settlement activities, settler violence and annexation measures in the West Bank, including Al Quds (occupied East Jerusalem).
He called for renewed and coordinated diplomatic action by the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation.
Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the establishment of an independent, sovereign and territorially contiguous Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al Quds (occupied East Jerusalem) as its capital, as well as for Palestine’s full membership in the United Nations.
