Ahl Masr Burn Hospital, the first specialised hospital in Egypt, the Middle East, and Africa dedicated to providing free burn treatment, has launched its inaugural “Health Makes a Difference” (Al-Sehha Farqa) medical convoy under the slogan “Your Safety Matters to Us.”
Organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Population and Beheira Governorate, the initiative begins in Al-Wafaiya village, Delengat Centre, with the aim of reaching underserved communities and bringing awareness, prevention, and medical services directly to residents.
Beheira was selected as the convoy’s starting point due to the high number of burn cases and beneficiaries from the governorate who receive care at Ahl Masr Burn Hospital, with particular attention to women, children, and families who face greater vulnerability to burn injuries.
Founder and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Ahl Masr Foundation and Burn Hospital, Heba El-Sewedy, said the initiative reflects the meaning behind “Ahl Masr” – People of Egypt – and the foundation’s commitment to reaching communities nationwide beyond its Cairo-based hospital.
She emphasised that Beheira marks the first step in a broader plan to expand to other governorates through sustainable partnerships with government, private-sector, and civil-society stakeholders.
The convoy combines two integrated tracks: burn awareness and prevention, including education on common causes, risk reduction, and appropriate first response; and medical screening and multidisciplinary care. Its clinics provide dermatology, burn care, orthopedics, internal medicine, and pediatrics.
Executive Director of Valley Water, Ahmed Aliwa, highlighted the company’s partnership with Ahl Masr, reaffirming its commitment to social responsibility, health awareness, prevention, and supporting underserved communities.
Governor of Beheira, Jacqueline Azer, commended Ahl Masr’s pioneering role in delivering specialised, free burn care and promoting prevention, while underscoring the importance of sustaining and expanding the initiative.
Through its Programmes Department, Ahl Masr is conducting interactive awareness sessions, while its multidisciplinary medical team provides examinations, case assessments, and guidance.
The convoy represents a collaborative model bringing together government, the private sector, and civil society – including Valley Water, owner of the Elano Water brand, a former Ahl Masr partner – to extend Ahl Masr’s comprehensive vision of treatment, prevention, psychological support, and rehabilitation.
