Egypt’s Education Minister Mohamed Abdellatif has ordered schools nationwide to suspend for one full academic year any student who uses a camera or other recording device to film a teacher on school premises, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Education on Monday.
The measure is based on Ministerial Decree No. 150 of 2024 governing school incentives and disciplinary regulations.
Under the directive, any student who records a teacher at school with the intention of insulting, bullying or posting the footage on social media will face a one-year suspension. The Ministry of Education stressed that safeguarding teachers’ dignity and status while maintaining a disciplined educational environment are fundamental principles of the education process
