CAIRO – Dr Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Health received on Monday the general manager of China’s Sinovac Biotech, Helen Yang, for talks on cooperation in the vaccine production domain.
Health Ministry spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said the meeting dealt with joint cooperation files between the Holding Company for Biological Products and Vaccines VACSERA and China’s Sinovac as well as executive steps to transfer vaccine manufacturing technology and support it locally in line with a set timetable.
The two sides discussed means to boost the exchange of expertise within the framework of efforts aimed at developing vaccines against the new variants of the pandemic.
VACSERA CEO Heba Wali said the Chinese delegation’s visit aimed at inspecting VACSERA factory in the 6th of October city and getting acquainted with its capabilities and level of preparedness as part of cooperation between the two sides.
