Delegates of the government side to the 52nd session of the Arab Labour Conference (ALC) have unanimously elected Egypt’s Minister of Labour Hassan Raddad as head of the government delegations, during the session’s proceedings held in Cairo on Sunday.
The election was made by consensus on Sunday among representatives of 21 Arab countries attending the conference, which Egypt is hosting September, 13-20, with the participation of representatives of the three production parties — governments, employers and workers — as well as heads and members of delegations and participating observers.
The election reflects the solid Arab confidence in Egypt’s pivotal role Egypt in supporting labour and workers’ issues at the regional level, as well as its longstanding commitment to boosting Arab co-operation and developing frameworks for social dialogue among the three production parties to advance the Arab labour market and meet sustainable development aspirations.
