The Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptians Abroad, Badr Abdel-Aaty, affirmed Egypt’s pride in its historical and fraternal relations with Mali and its keenness to continue developing bilateral co-operation in various fields, particularly health, education, and technical and vocational education and training.

Abdel-Aaty made the remarks during his meeting on Sunday with Minister of Entrepreneurship, Employment and Technical Training of the Republic of Mali, Oumou Sall Seck, on the sidelines of the seventh meeting of the Dialogue between Technical Cooperation Agencies of the Member States of the Islamic Development Bank, held in Cairo.

During the meeting, Abdel-Aaty stressed the importance of supporting development efforts, qualifying national cadres, and equipping them with the skills and expertise needed to meet the requirements of the labour market.

He also expressed Egypt’s readiness to exchange experience and expertise with Mali in the fields of entrepreneurship and support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), with a particular focus on young people, enhancing their capabilities and providing them with training and qualification opportunities.

This would support their active participation in economic activity and contribute to creating broader employment opportunities.

The minister further underscored the importance of strengthening development co-operation and capacity-building through the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development, and of benefiting from the programmes and training courses it offers in priority areas.

He noted that such efforts would support national development plans and strengthen the frameworks of partnership and co-operation between the two countries.
