Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly inaugurated on Sunday two factories operated by Technovision for Industry and Trade in the Ain Sokhna Industrial Zone, part of the Suez Canal Economic Zone, with combined investments of $16 million.

The two factories, located within Orascom Industrial Zones, specialise in equipping ambulances, mobile clinics and blood banks, as well as assembling dental machines, chairs and equipment.

During the inauguration, Prime Minister Madbouly stressed that expanding the localisation of healthcare-related industries is a fundamental pillar of efforts to strengthen Egypt’s domestic production capacity and provide the equipment and supplies needed by the healthcare system.

He said the diversity of the projects, ranging from specialised medical vehicles to dental equipment, reflects the wide range of opportunities available for specialised industrial investment and contributes to enhancing the Egyptian market’s ability to meet its medical product needs locally.

Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone Mostafa Sheikhon said Technovision’s projects represent a model of specialised manufacturing directly linked to the needs of vital sectors.

He explained that the ambulance-equipping project would increase Egypt’s local production capacity for specialised medical vehicles, while the dental equipment assembly project introduces a new industrial activity based on partnerships and the transfer of technical expertise.

Sheikhon noted that the two projects benefit from German expertise in ambulance outfitting and Egyptian-Chinese co-operation in dental equipment, creating opportunities to develop local industrial capabilities, increase production and raise local content.

The first factory, dedicated to equipping ambulance bodies, was established with investments of $10 million and currently occupies 1,500 square metres across two production halls.

It can produce up to 50 ambulances a month, or 600 annually, and provides around 60 jobs. Production is carried out under the supervision of German company WAS in line with international technical and quality standards.

The facility is planned to expand onto an additional 8,000-square-metre plot. The second factory, established with $6 million in investments, assembles dental machines, chairs and equipment.

It currently covers 1,000 square metres and has a production capacity of 100 dental chairs a month, or 1,200 annually, providing around 60 jobs.

The project is being implemented through an Egyptian-Chinese partnership with Runyes.

A 5,000-square-metre plot has been allocated for future expansion, while the next phase will focus on marketing the factory’s products.
