The final whistle in Jordan brought more than the end of a volleyball match. For Egypt’s Under-18 women’s team, it marked the emergence of a promising young group on the Arab scene.
A 3–0 win over Algeria secured the Arab Under-18 title for Egypt and brought the gold medals home. But beyond the result, the tournament offered a glimpse of what this team could become.
Final push
By the time Egypt reached the final, only one team stood between the young Pharaohs and the title: Algeria.
The players started confidently. They took control early and kept Algeria under pressure before going on to win 3–0.
As soon as the final point was scored, the celebrations began. The players gathered together, the pressure of the tournament finally lifted, and the gold medals were theirs.
It was a fitting finish to a campaign in which Egypt had shown consistency and a clear desire to compete at the top.
More depth
The title was not built on the final alone. Egypt played well throughout the tournament and showed good composure in important moments. The win over Algeria in the final was the perfect way to finish.
For Egyptian volleyball, the result was another encouraging sign that the women’s game has a strong base of young players coming through.
Next step
For an Under-18 side, however, a gold medal should never be seen as the end of the journey.
International youth tournaments give players valuable experience that they cannot get from training alone. They learn how to handle pressure, important points and difficult moments while representing their country.
The Jordan title is therefore not just another trophy. It is an early step in developing a generation that could wear Egypt’s colours for many years to come.

The squad included Hana Karim, Nada Nader, Khadija Rami, Karma Moneim, Yara Ramzy, Zeina Ahmed, Joud Emad, Farida Abdel-Sattar, Hala Hatem, Hana El-Gheitany, Lili Ahmed, Malak Tamer, Laila Momen and Hana Ehab.
For these players, the tournament provided more than a medal. It gave them the memory of representing Egypt, playing in a major final and finishing at the top.
Just beginning
The celebrations in Jordan are over and the gold medals are now back in Cairo. But for this team, the more important part of the story is only beginning.
For these players, the Arab title is a reward for their hard work, but it also gives them the chance to aim higher.
They have already proved they can win an Arab title. The next question is where that confidence can take them.
