Egypt’s Ministry of Military Production and Bosnian defence manufacturer Pretis signed a memorandum of understanding on co-operation in the defence industries, the ministry said on Friday.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the First Balkan Shield Defence Industry Expo and Summit, held in Sarajevo from September 1 to 4.
Under the memorandum, the two sides will work to strengthen cooperation and promote industrial integration, according to Egypt’s Minister of State for Military Production Major General Salah Suleiman Gomblat.
Gomblat said the agreement reflected the ministry’s efforts to expand its international partnerships and open new avenues of co-operation with companies in friendly and allied countries.
He added that co-operation with Pretis would help strengthen Egypt’s presence in international defence markets and pave the way for further industrial and commercial partnerships.
Pretis representatives praised the manufacturing and technological capabilities of companies affiliated with Egypt’s Ministry of Military Production and expressed interest in expanding bilateral co-operation.
The Bosnian company is one of the country’s leading defence manufacturers and has extensive experience in the sector, the ministry said.
