Egypt has condemned the renewed Iranian attacks targeting the UAE and Jordan, and voiced deep concern over their continued escalation and the direct threat they pose to the security and safety of the two countries and their peoples.
The attacks risk widening the scope of the confrontation and further undermining efforts to restore security and stability across the region, Egypt warned in a statement by the Foreign Ministry.
In addition, Egypt reaffirmed its full solidarity with the UAE and Jordan, and stressed the importance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states and safeguarding the security and safety of navigation, as well as the freedom of movement of vessels through maritime waterways and straits, in accordance with international law.
Egypt also cautioned that continued escalation could have serious repercussions for regional security and stability, calling for an immediate halt to the attacks and a reduction in tensions, the statement read.
It stressed the need to return to the negotiating table and activate diplomatic channels to reach political solutions capable of restoring security and stability and preventing the region from sliding into a broader confrontation.
