Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a phone call with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Saturday, as part of ongoing coordination between Egypt and Türkiye on regional developments of mutual concern.
The phone talks focused on ongoing efforts to contain the current escalation in the Middle East region. The two ministers stressed the need to intensify efforts to achieve de-escalation and reduce tensions, while working to restore the diplomatic and negotiating track between Iran and the United States.
They also underscored the importance of upholding the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding as a basis for creating a conducive environment for reaching comprehensive and sustainable understandings that would contribute to boosting regional security and stability
