As part of Egypt’s drive to expand African cooperation, Minister of State for Military Production, Major General Salah Suleiman Gomblat, held on Wednesday talks with Egypt’s ambassador to Uganda, Sherif El-Gammal, at the ministry headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. Discussions centred on strengthening industrial collaboration and opening new opportunities for joint projects.
Gomblat showcased the ministry’s integrated system of 15 industrial companies and four specialised firms, including IT, construction, maintenance and a centre for scientific excellence. He noted that the ministry operates 260 production lines and nearly 980 CNC machines, offering strong potential for partnerships to meet Ugandan market needs.
The minister stressed Egypt’s priority of continental cooperation, welcoming Ugandan technical delegations to visit production facilities and explore areas of collaboration. He underlined the strategic goal of building partnerships with African nations and the global private sector in line with directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
For his part, Ambassador El-Gammal praised the ministry’s industrial and technological capabilities, its role in supporting Egypt’s armed forces and police, and its contribution to national development projects. He expressed his commitment to strengthening ties during his tenure in Kampala, increasing the presence of Egyptian products, particularly those of the Ministry of Military Production in Uganda, and overcoming challenges to deepen bilateral co-operation .
