As part of Egypt’s efforts to strengthen economic ties, Mohamed Awad, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, met Suresh K. Reddy, Ambassador of India in Cairo, to discuss ways of enhancing investment co-operation between the two countries.
During the meeting, Awad emphasised the Authority’s commitment to supporting Indian businesses and tapping into promising opportunities across priority sectors in the Egyptian market. The meeting reviewed available projects and mechanisms to encourage Indian companies already operating in Egypt to expand and inject new investments, while fostering partnerships between Egyptian and Indian firms.
For his part, Ambassador Reddy praised Egypt’s investment climate and reiterated India’s interest in deepening economic co-operation, stressing the importance of continued co-ordination to explore new opportunities and support the expansion of Indian companies in Egypt.
Both sides agreed to maintain close co-ordination, exchange information on priority projects, and enhance communication between business communities, with the aim of increasing Indian investment in Egypt and opening new avenues for economic partnership.
