Egyptian swimmer Abdelrahman Sameh won the gold medal in the 50-metre butterfly event at the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games.
He finished the race in 23.18 seconds, breaking the event record and securing Egypt’s first gold medal of the competition.
The 20th Mediterranean Games are taking place in Taranto, Italy, running through September 3.
