Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli congratulated President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the Egyptian people on the upcoming birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad, praying for Egypt’s continued security, peace and stability.

This came as he chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting on Thursday to discuss a number of key issues and files.

Madbouli reviewed the escalating regional situation and President El-Sisi’s recent diplomatic contacts with world leaders, including US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.

He also highlighted Egypt’s firm position on Libya, stressing the need to preserve its unity, unify its institutions and hold parliamentary and presidential elections.

Madbouli also referred to El-Sisi’s meeting with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, during which the president reaffirmed Egypt’s support for Qatar’s security and sovereignty and its rejection of any attempts to undermine them.

Domestically, Madbouli reviewed the president’s follow-up on the Justice City project in the New Capital and preparations for the new academic year

He stressed the importance of developing curricula, training teachers and ensuring that graduates acquire the skills needed for the labour market.

Madbouli also highlighted the president’s support for talented and outstanding students, noting that the government is working on initiatives to nurture young talent.

A co-operation protocol was signed to support gifted students through professional programmes and innovative investment solutions.

On the economic front, Madbouli said the government, in coordination with the Central Bank of Egypt, is preparing a national economic transformation programme reflecting Egypt’s priorities for the coming period.

The programme aims to build a more resilient, stable and competitive economy led increasingly by the private sector, while boosting investment, productivity and exports, creating jobs and supporting sustainable growth and improved living standards.
