Egypt’s Minister of State for Military Production Salah Gomblatt said on Wednesday that employees are the ministry’s true wealth, stressing that developing production lines and providing a motivating work environment are essential to raising productivity and achieving production targets.

Gomblatt made the remarks during an inspection tour of Helwan Diesel Engines Company (Military Factory 909), where he reviewed production lines, operational performance and development plans and met employees to assess their well-being, working conditions and views.

During the tour, the minister stressed that listening to employees is an essential element of field monitoring and directed the removal of any obstacles affecting workflow.

He also issued urgent directives to provide medical care and hospital treatment for two employees.

The minister further inspected the diesel engines and spare parts factory, along with hot- and cold-forming lines for fastening equipment using robots and advanced CNC machines.

He also reviewed complementary bolt-production processes, presses of different capacities and the production line for aeration discs used in wastewater treatment plants.

Gomblatt said the company would expand local manufacturing of aeration discs using composite materials to increase rigidity while maintaining the dimensions of imported products, supporting standardised measurements and meeting wastewater treatment projects’ needs.

In this respect, he reviewed production rates, operational efficiency and quality standards and received a briefing on the company’s development plans.

He directed establishing a system to reward outstanding employees based on productivity and innovative ideas that improve quality and operational efficiency.

Gomblatt stressed maximising technological, manufacturing and technical capabilities, continuing modernisation, improving equipment and production-line efficiency, training human resources and adhering to quality standards and contractual deadlines.

He also called for close monitoring of production and performance indicators and swift resolution of challenges affecting workflow.

The minister said field visits form part of continuous monitoring of ministry-affiliated companies to identify development opportunities, strengthen performance and address problems promptly.

He reaffirmed continued support for employees and manufacturing capabilities and the optimal use of available assets to deepen local manufacturing, enhance Factory 909’s performance and support the national economy.
