Head of Egypt’s General Intelligence Service (GIS), Major General Hassan Rashad, received a Hamas delegation led by the group’s political bureau chief, Khalil al-Hayya, Egyptian authorities said.
The meeting focused on ways to continue implementing the outcomes of the Sharm el-Sheikh peace summit and US President Donald Trump’s plan, according to a statement reported by Al-Qahera News.
Hamas praised Egypt’s efforts to promote stability and consolidate the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
The group also reaffirmed its commitment to implementing Trump’s plan to end the suffering of Gaza’s residents and begin the reconstruction process.
