Egypt’s agro-exports have surpassed 6.2 million tonnes, reflecting the strong international reputation of Egyptian agricultural products across global markets, according to a recent report by the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation.
Citrus fruits topped the list with 2.3 million tonnes, followed by fresh potatoes at around 918,000 tonnes.
Sweet potatoes ranked third, with more than 235,000 tonnes, followed by grapes at around 180,000 tonnes and fresh onions at 155,000 tonnes.
Fresh and dry beans ranked sixth, with around 136,000 tonnes, while exports also included strawberries, garlic, tomatoes, mangoes, guavas and pomegranates.
The ministry said the figures reflect growing international confidence in the quality and safety of Egyptian agricultural products, which continue to meet stringent health requirements and international standards.
