Director of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD), Iman Karim, and Rear Admiral Rami Ahmed Ismail, on behalf of the Commander of the Naval Forces, Vice Admiral Mahmoud Adel Fawzy, visited the 11th exhibition of products and handicrafts made by persons with disabilities at the Fleet Pioneers Club in Ras El Tin, Alexandria.
Held from August 13 to 15, the exhibition featured 55 exhibitors with disabilities alongside various disability organisations.
Egypt to launch unified digital system for foreign work permits
Egypt’s Minister of Labour, Hassan Raddad, followed up on Saturday on the final preparations for launching a single digital system for managing foreign work permits.
The new system is aimed at enhancing the country’s investment climate, streamlining procedures and providing faster, easier and more efficient services to investors, businesses and foreign workers.
Perez, Fiorini set world records
BIRMINGHAM (United Kingdom) — Spain’s Maria Perez and Italian Sofia Fiorini set new world records when winning the half-marathon and marathon race walk events respectively at the European championships in Birmingham on Saturday.
Four-time world champion Perez finished in 1:30:06, smashing by more than two minutes the previous world record set by Italy’s Antonella Palmisano in Podebrady, Czechia, in May.
German wildfire near Belgian border under control
A wildfire in western Germany that forced the evacuation of thousands of people on Friday has stabilised, local authorities said on Saturday, although residents were still barred from returning home.
More than 2,000 people were evacuated from the village of Gey, near the Belgian border, on Friday after the fire came within 300 metres (1,000 ft) of the community.
