Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdel-Aati had a phone call with his Bahraini counterpart Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani on Tuesday to discuss bilateral ties and regional developments.
The call came as part of ongoing coordination between the two countries.
The two ministers praised the deep, historic and fraternal ties between Egypt and Bahrain, noting their growing momentum across various fields.
They highlighted Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s recent visit to Egypt and his talks with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, saying the visit reflected both countries commitment to further developing bilateral relations and strengthening cooperation in ways that serve their peoples’ interests.
Abdel-Aati and Al Zayani also exchanged views on the latest regional developments, stressing the need to continue efforts to de-escalate tensions and contain regional crises.
They stressed the importance of prioritising political and diplomatic solutions to help strengthen security and stability in the region.
The ministers also underscored the need to ensure freedom and safety of navigation through international waterways and protect maritime security and international trade, in accordance with international law.
