Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) Walid Gamal El-Din held talks on Tuesday with a visiting Omani delegation to explore opportunities for joint investment and more economic co-operation.
The delegation, that was led by Saeed Ali Al Abri, Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), North Al Batinah Governorate Branch, included representatives from OCCI, Sohar Industrial City, North Al Batinah Governorate, as well as Omani businessmen and companies operating in real estate development, contracting, industry, energy, logistics, maritime services and healthcare.
During the meeting, the SCZone chief outlined the authority’s investment opportunities, integrated infrastructure and incentives, highlighting its strategic location linking African, Asian and European markets.
The zone offers an integrated platform for industry, logistics and trade, comprising four industrial zones and six modern seaports on the Red Sea and the Mediterranean, Gamal El-Din said.
The SCZone also provides investors with streamlined services through its one-stop-shop system.
Gamal El-Din stressed the SCZone’s interest in attracting Omani investment in priority sectors and said the zone had doubled its investment volume in recent years despite regional and global challenges.
For his part, Al Abri praised the SCZone’s efforts to improve the investment climate and called for stronger links between Egyptian and Omani business communities, moving beyond trade towards broader economic partnerships and access to regional and global markets.
The meeting followed the delegation’s visit to the SCZone’s integrated Sokhna Industrial Zone, where it inspected industrial projects in energy, engineering and construction and toured Sokhna Port.
