Egypt and Türkiye have probed broader investment and trade co-operation in agriculture and poultry, as Cairo seeks to attract more foreign investment and strengthen private-sector partnerships.
Agriculture and Land Reclamation Minister Alaa Farouk held talks with a visiting delegation of Turkish businessmen and investors, led by Turkey’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry.
The discussions, attended by representatives of Egypt’s poultry and agricultural export sectors, focused on boosting private-sector partnerships, and promoting agricultural trade and the transfer of modern technologies, as well as the development of agricultural, livestock and poultry supply chains.
Minister Farouk stressed Egypt’s commitment to creating a favourable investment climate and removing obstacles facing domestic and foreign investors.
The agricultural and poultry sectors offer promising investment opportunities that can support sustainable development and food security, he said.
The two sides also discussed the possibility of Türkiye serving as a regional hub for Egyptian poultry and poultry-product exports to neighbouring and nearby markets, leveraging its strategic location and established supply chains.
They agreed to organise a field visit for Turkish businessmen and investors to poultry farms, modern slaughterhouses and major agricultural projects to explore investment opportunities and technological developments.
