Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Randa el-Menshawy, said on Saturday that diverse investment opportunities offered by the New Urban Communities Authority’s (NUCA) digital platforms for Egyptian and foreign investors form part of the state’s strategy to achieve sustainable urban development, increase private-sector participation in development projects and maximise the use of state-owned assets.
The minister has pointed out that the new cities are witnessing significant growth in investment and urban development and have become a pillar of economic development.
Menshawy noted that NUCA continues to provide promising opportunities in strategically located sites, many of which lie along major axes and regional roads or in densely populated areas, thereby enhancing project viability and investment returns.
Deputy Minister of Housing for Urban Communities, Walid Abbas, revealed that NUCA has received around 204 applications from foreign companies through its Foreign Investment Portal so far this month.
The ministry aims to expand private‑sector participation amid rapid urban expansion and significant government investment in infrastructure, roads, utilities and services.
Efforts are also underway to integrate databases and digital platforms, accelerate decision‑making, improve land management and strengthen investor confidence.
