Dr Abdel Radi Mohamed Abdel Mohsen, Dean of the Faculty of Dar al-Uloum, Cairo University, said that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi exalts the values of citizenship, belonging and loyalty without regard to cultural identity or religious belief.
“The President wants to build a modern state in which there is no discrimination, whether at ethnic, cultural, colous or gender. Everyone is equal in rights and duties, as we see that senior positions in the State are not restricted to one group without the other,” Abdel Mohsen said.
He added that the idea of citizenship is not new, as Jesus Christ said in the Bible “give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and give to God what belongs to God”, which elaborates the necessity of separating religious belief and the rights of the civil State, just as the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), laid the foundations of citizenship within the Madina’s multi-religious society.
Abdel Mohsen added that the whole world is awaiting the opening of Religions Complex in the holy land of Sinai. The complex includes the symbols of the three monotheistic religions to assure the world that Egypt is a country of stability and peace.
He clarified that the Faculty of Dar al-Uloum is in the process of coordinating the preparation of a major celebration marking the 150th anniversary of its foundation.
