Egypt’s commitment to its citizens overseas was further demonstrated on Sunday as the country’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati attended the signing of four co-operation protocols during the opening session of the 7th Egyptians Abroad Conference.

The agreements, signed in the presence of participating ministers, aim to expand services and strengthen ties between expatriates and their homeland.

The first protocol was signed by Abdel-Aati and Education Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif under the presidential “Speak Arabic” initiative.

The programme is designed to help children of Egyptians abroad maintain links with their national identity, language and cultural values. Abdel-Aati emphasised that preserving the Arabic language among younger generations is vital to keeping them connected to Egypt’s heritage.

Three more protocols were concluded with leading national institutions. One agreement with Delta Egypt Payments “Sahl” will raise awareness of electronic payment systems among Egyptians abroad. Another, with Misr Life Insurance, introduces the “Your Pension Tomorrow in Dollars” scheme, offering expatriates a secure savings option.

The fourth protocol, signed with the National Bank of Egypt and Banque Misr under the sponsorship of the Central Bank of Egypt, launches a customer data update initiative to streamline banking services for Egyptians abroad.

Together, the agreements reflect a broader government strategy to modernise services and ensure that Egyptians overseas benefit from financial, educational and digital innovations. Abdel-Aati noted that the protocols form part of a co-ordinated effort across ministries and institutions to pool resources and expertise.

“Our goal is to meet the needs of Egyptians abroad while strengthening their bond with the homeland,” he said.
