Gaza mediators Egypt, the US, Qatar and Turkey, are expected to hold a meeting in Cairo soon to reaffirm the parties’ commitment to implementing the Gaza ceasefire agreement, Egyptian state-linked broadcaster Al Qahera News reported, citing sources.
The sources said Egypt was intensifying contacts with various parties to discuss implementation of the agreement, adding that Hamas and other Palestinian factions were responding positively to Cairo’s efforts and those of the mediators.
They said successful implementation of the deal would pave the way for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, early recovery programmes and the rehabilitation of damaged infrastructure.
It would also help restart education and restore public facilities and essential services, the sources said.
