Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli has reaffirmed that the government remains committed to providing fully serviced industrial land to meet the needs of serious industrial investors, describing it as a key pillar for expanding industrial activity, attracting investment, increasing production and creating jobs.

He noted that the state has allocated millions of square metres of industrial land for new projects in recent years as part of its strategy to broaden Egypt’s industrial base and strengthen the sector’s contribution to economic growth.

The premier remarks came during a meeting he called on Wednesday with senior officials to review the government’s industrial zone development plan.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Rostom, Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem, Head of the Industrial Development Authority Nahed Youssef, Head of the Infrastructure Budgets and Economic Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Finance Ahmed Samir, Assistant Minister of Planning for Infrastructure Nehad Morsi and other officials.

During the meeting, Madbouli stressed the importance of accelerating the delivery of utilities to new industrial zones witnessing growing investor demand, while prioritising the expansion of high-demand zones and upgrading and maintaining existing facilities to ensure sustainable services and enhance the competitiveness of Egypt’s industrial sector.

The prime minister also directed officials to expedite procedures for launching major infrastructure projects, particularly water and wastewater treatment plants, through public-private partnerships, with the aim of accelerating implementation and benefiting from private sector expertise in the management and operation of these projects to the highest standards of efficiency and quality.

For his part, Minister Hashem reviewed the infrastructure development programme covering 17 industrial complexes and zones across 11 governorates, including Alexandria, Port Said, Giza, Minya, Beni Suef, Dakahlia, Kafr el-Sheikh, Assiut, Sohag, Luxor and Aswan.

Head of the Industrial Development Authority Nahed Youssef outlined progress in establishing integrated utility networks, sewage pumping and treatment plants, electricity substations and transformers, water, electricity and sewage networks, and internal roads to ensure the industrial zones are fully prepared to receive new investments.
